How to Deal with Sweaty Feet: Useful Advice for Healthy and Comfortable Soles

Sep 29, 2025

Sweaty feet can be more than just a minor inconvenience; they can make you uncomfortable, smell bad, and even give you foot problems like athlete’s foot. Have you ever wondered why your feet sweat so much? Did you know that each foot has more than 125,000 sweat glands and can make up to half a pint of sweat every day? That’s a lot of water!

So, what can you do to keep your feet clean and healthy? We at Kin Body and Sole, we believe in simple, effective habits that really work. Here are four easy ways to keep your feet clean and dry and deal with sweaty feet:

1. Put on socks that let air through and are made of natural fibres.

Choosing socks made of bamboo or organic cotton that are clean can make a big difference. These materials let your skin breathe and keep your feet cool all day. Bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, which helps lower the risk of infections when you take care of your feet well.

2. Make sure to dry your feet well after washing them.

Take your time drying your feet well after a shower or bath, especially between your toes. Leftover moisture can cause maceration, which is when the skin turns white and starts to peel. This makes it more likely that you will get an infection. A helpful tip: Use a cotton bud to apply surgical spirit between each toe every day. This will help keep the area dry because surgical spirit has natural drying properties.

3. Use an antiperspirant on your feet

Pharmacies do have foot-specific antiperspirants, but they are often hidden, so ask a staff member if you can’t find them. These items help keep sweat under control and lower moisture levels all day.

4. Give your shoes some air

Changing shoes gives the insoles time to dry out completely, which helps keep bacteria and fungi from growing.
